Bobby: "merely waiting for a child to be abused and reacting to it."
If child abuse prevention doesn't work, no other organization reacts as swiftly and forcefully as the Watchtower does to protect...well...the Watchtower.
the guardian newspaper today reports that the iccsa has received “numerous” reports relating to child sexual abuse among jehovahs witness's, and it is possible they will establish an entirely separate inquiry into these reports.
the government set up the iccsa independnt inquiry into child sexual abuse some time ago and their has been a delay in the inquiry operating as thw role of chair s established.. typo in heading, sorry .

Bobby:"Otherwise, I guess we can blame police for not “protecting children”"
So you compare a police who is completely unaware of child abuse with an elder who is very aware of child abuse and is advised by the Watchtower to hush. Your conclusion is that they are equally guilty.
I will have to copy and paste your own words
"But logic and reason means nothing to you"
hello one and all.. i've been a lurker on here for a few weeks now and i am finally starting to post on some threads.
a lot of the subjects that i wanted to talk about have already been covered so i wont bother restarting a topic that's been done to death.. im a 3rd generation, born-in, jw.
currently faded.
"To me, he [Satan] represents human nature."
Then you are better off studying Greek Mythology. And from there jump to Greek Classics and Athens Golden Age (fifth century B.C.) Far better!
only a few days ago i was walking around the house in a mindless wander thinking if i needed to seek professional help.
then i got the courage to seek the comfort of complete strangers on the internet and found a world of support here on this website.
thank you simon and whoever else has made this website possible.
i haven't stopped laughing since i heard this.
a pimo in my last congregation told me that an elder has been removed from his elder position.
apparently he grabbed another elder by the throat, put him up against a wall in the back room and punched him in on the nose... during an elders meeting on thursday evening after the meeting.. the congregation were running round like headless chickens wondering what to do?
I found the story. I have to say that P.E. has not reached these heights yet.

Remember a guy (John Aquila) who would come up with far fetched stories. I remember one that I fell for. It was about an elderette that came home, went to bed and confessed to her husband her doubts about the Watchtower. Then the elder husband confessed his own doubts and right there and then they quit cold turkey.
That guy could tell a good story, but soon became obvious that the stories were completely made up. He disappeared (did he??)and never came back. I don't think P.E. is like that guy or makes up stuff. He may embellish his stories only.
every now and then, my wife will talk about how things are not making sense within the org.
i usually just dismiss it as her playing mind games with me.
for example, she would ask why there are so many branches being closed or why so many congregations are being merged.
"but when you're trapped within the org, intelligence doesn't really matter"
You are wrong, it matters. You are one lucky apostate.
No, no. Kill that smile, you are not getting ice cream. Remember, Jehovah first
"Why? She had other stuff on her plate"
Yes, including the book. I am sure getting the book published took a great deal of effort and time, which leads me back to the same question. Was it that hard, given all the time invested in the book, to add a simple explanation for the delay?
Instead of an advance announcement, she surprises everyone: "here's the book, and let me tell you "I have suffered too much"". All of us are capable of empathy if we know what someone else is going through, but we didn't.
I smell a Christian, yes the Christian who wants to emulate Christ in the cross. My mother is exactly like that and most of the times I have to bite my tongue just like I am doing now.
In defense of the of the critics,
I feel bad that I made a comment suggesting that Mrs. Dykstra may have caved in to the Watchtower and decided to scrap any future publication of Ray Franz books. But in retrospect, I think many of us speculated because she was completely silent for a very long time; a simple two paragraph explanation could have put the speculation to rest, but she chose not to explain anything. So Slim and many others who speculated and question her motives should be given some slack.
I certainly am quite happy that "Crisis" is available again, but I can't help to wonder why she was completely silent for so long and decides to surprise everyone.
